What to Bring for a Great Caravan Holiday
Packing for a holiday can be stressful – everything that a good holiday isn’t meant to be! To help make your 2018 visit to Lakeside Holiday Park – or for any family holiday – all that much more enjoyable, here is a list of some packing essentials to make your family caravan holiday the best it can be!
Swimming and Sun Lounging Gear
The swimming pool at Lakeside is a great place to spend a warm spring or summer day – so make sure you pack your swimming gear! Beach towels, goggles, inflatables – make sure you bring the lot. Even if you’re just planning to have a drink on the poolside terrace instead of taking a dunk yourself, remember to pack sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses for optimal comfort at the poolside.
Caravan Toys, Games and Entertainment
We can’t promise that there won’t be a rainy day on your holiday (this is England after all) and so we recommend bringing some toys and games to keep you and the kids entertained if you find yourselves not wanting to leave your caravan. A deck of cards is a must, as well as any of the board game classics. Make sure to pack extra dice too as they’re all too easy to lose!
If you fancy sitting down with a movie (or just want to distract the kids while you cook) then make sure you bring some of your favourite DVDs along with you. The Osprey range at Lakeside all include a TV and DVD player for you to enjoy. If you are staying in one of our other caravan ranges you might want to bring along a portable DVD player too.
Fishing Tackle and Rod Licence
We’re very proud of our fishing lake – with a three-acre natural lake with a large variety of fish on-site, you’d be missing out if you didn’t being your rods! Not only that but Burnham-on-Sea and the surrounding area has many other fishing lakes – both natural and artificial – open to eager anglers.
It’s vital that you have a rod licence – without one we can’t let you fish – so make sure you pick one up prior to your arrival. These are available from the gov.uk website.
More information on the fishing at Lakeside Holiday Park and in the surrounding area can be found on the Lakeside website.
If you have young children then the drive to and from your holiday location can be a difficult one. It doesn’t take much for the little ’uns to get bored and so in-car activities are a must. Some good road music or even an audio book can be a great way to keep the whole family entertained – then of course there are the old favourites of i-spy and 20 questions. For a more personal touch why not put together a little activity bag with healthy snacks, books and other items to keep your kids happy on the road.
Staying at Lakeside you’re less than a mile away from the sandy beaches of Burnham-on-Sea. So make sure you bring along your beach towels, buckets and spades and plenty of sunscreen – there’s plenty of fun to be had!
Is there anything we’ve forgotten? Can you think of any other essential items for a perfect family caravan holiday at Lakeside Holiday Park?
