Mendip Snow Sports in Congresbury
Skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing…these are the top snow sports in the world and you can get a taste of any or all of these right in Congresbury. Specifically Mendip Snowsport Centre is on the edge of the Mendip Hills. You can access it from the A38. The exit is half way between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol, just half an hour away from Lakeside Holiday Park. The Centre is located on Lyncombe Drive in Churchill.
The Mendip Snowsport Centre features a 165 metre winding dry slope which combined with the chalet style buildings and the outstanding views gives the impression of being in an alpine resort.
The slopes are open daily, all year long – except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The Centre is closed those days. The slopes are floodlit so you can enjoy them until closing time which is usually 10pm weekdays and 8pm on Saturday and Sunday. The toboggan slope opens at 9am and the main slope opens at 9:30am.
You can’t ski? This is the place to learn. Mendip Snowsport offers ski lessons that will have you enjoying the slopes in no time. Maybe you can ski and just want to practice. The slope is complete with bends, moguls, bumps, jumps and quarter pipe.
Maybe you’d rather snowboard. The Centre has snowboarding lessons as well. And then there’s tobogganing. One of the more popular events is the tobogganing for kids on the brightly coloured new Zibob toboggans. Children between the ages of 4 and 12 love these toboggans and tobogganing.
Mendip Snowsport Centre is the only snow sports location centre in Somerset. Whether you want to brush up your skiing skills for yourself or are looking for a great place for a children’s birthday party, this is the place to be. It’s winter time. Revel in ideal winter sports.
You can book online or over the phone. As well as children’s parties, you can book adult parties, not-for-profit events, or relax in the après ski café bar, the Alpine Lounge. The café bar is open all day for drinks and snacks and at 4pm for a full menu meal during the week and all day on the weekend.
