Burnham on Sea Folkfest
With the summer season in full flow, there are some exciting events coming to Burnham on Sea, one of those being the 9th Annual “Mostly Free” FolkFest.
Held across a number of venues around Burnham on Sea over the weekend of 29th – 31st August 2014, this fast growing festival offers a variety of live musical events and something to do for the whole family to include: open air concerts, craft fairs and traders stalls.
The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre, situated in Burnham on Sea Town Centre, is only a 10 minute walk away from Lakeside Holiday Park and is host to some of the evening concerts throughout the weekend.
This year’s Friday night concert will be headlined by festival favorites, The Urban Folk Quartet. This talented 4 piece manage to fuse their extraordinary folk sound with a diverse range of other musical sounds and rhythms to include funk, rock and house! They are certainly not an act to miss and with tickets priced at a mere £10 it promises to be an absolutely brilliant start to the weekend’s activities!
Burnham on Sea Food Festival
Another exciting event held in Burnham on Sea Town Centre is the annual Burnham on Sea Food & Drink Festival. The next festival is scheduled for Saturday, 25th October and features “fun” events like The Great Burnham Burn Off, where entrants are invited to take part in a chilli eating competition!
Having started up in 2012, the Burnham on Sea Food and Drink Festival does exactly what it says on the tin! It is a free, family day out and is all about celebrating the great food and drink produced in and around the local area.
With over 80 stalls selling locally produced food and drink, and a large number of the local retailers offering discounts and special offers to support the festival, a great family day out is guaranteed, regardless of the weather!
