Best Easter Events in Oxfordshire 2019

Easter is the perfect time of year to get to Oxfordshire for some well deserved R&R. If the return of the warm weather wasn’t enough, there’s also so much to see and do! If you’re struggling to decided which of the area’s fantastic events to take advantage of this April, then read on! We’ve collected some of our favourite Easter events and activities together in this handy guide.

Easter at Blenheim Palace – 19th to 22nd April

Brush up on your archery, meet princesses, experience the thrills of a traditional fairground and even learn a few circus tricks of your own at Blenheim Palace – with the return of their Easter Wonderland attraction. Bursting with family-friendly activities and experiences, this annual four-day event invites visitors to explore a magical world of fairies and clowns, while at the same time enjoying puppet shows, balloon twisters, clowns, bungee trampolines and more.

If you’re looking for something a little bit different this Easter, then make sure you pay a visit to Blenheim Palace’s Easter Wonderland.

Big Easter Bunny Hunt at Waterperry Gardens – 1st to 24th April

The ornamental gardens at Waterperry are over-run by Easter bunnies! Explore the grounds and find them all to collect your Easter reward. It won’t be easy though. Waterperry Gardens offers acres upon acres of spectacular gardens in a range of styles – from formal and traditional to modern and playful. So make sure you don’t get too distracted by the beautiful surroundings, those rabbits won’t find themselves!

Easter Holidays at Cogges Manor Farm – 6th to 22nd April

Cogges Manor Farm is putting a twist on Easter this year, with a greater focus on the spring season and all the changes it brings. Children can explore the woods and climb in and on giant nests made with natural materials. Who could possibly need such a big nest?

There’s also an opportunity to play dress-up, hunt for Easter eggs in the play barn and enjoy mini tractor rides for even more fun! On weekends throughout the Easter period, join the Cogges Farm team for special meet-the-animal sessions and get to know some of the farm’s furrier residents a little better.

There will also be a range of shows and performances on offer across the month, including an ‘egg-drop challenge’ workshop courtesy of Science Oxford, performances from children’s musician Nick Cope and a special Treasure Island themed show.

Decorate an Easter Egg at Millets Farm Centre – 8th to 18th April

Frosts Garden Centre, part of the Millets Farm Centre, is giving young artists the opportunity to decorate their very own Easter egg. The best part? They get to eat their creations afterwards! Once the mini-chocolatiers have completed their masterworks, they’ll take part in a bunny hunt around the Garden Centre. A perfect Easter addition to any visit to the Millets Farm Centre.

Easter Family Fun at the River & Rowing Museum – 9th to 17th April

The River & Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames has a fantastic schedule of Easter-themed events planned this April, including a range of arts and crafts activities. Get creative with some William Morris inspired fabric crafts – don’t worry, there’s no sewing required! If you’d rather get out and about then why not meet some new animal friends with the Animal Antics event taking place on April 17th?

Can’t wait to get down to Oxfordshire but aren’t sure where you stay? With its fantastic location just outside of Oxford, Hardwick Parks offers fantastic self-catering touring and holiday home accommodation – complete with a great range of on-site watersports and entertainment.
