All The Fun Of The Fair – Brean Theme Park
Where can you have more fun than a park full of amusement rides, just 4 miles from Lakeside Holiday Park? At Fun City, aside from the more than 40 Family Thrill Rides, there are places where you can get coffee and doughnuts, burgers and fries, hot dogs, and plated food specials. You will find Wimpy’s, Oggy Oggy Pasties, Burger Express, Ricardo’s Ice Cream, Legends Sports Bar, and Big Deal Family Restaurant and other eateries at Fun City.
The rides and attractions include the always popular roller coaster and dodgems and special rides such as Speed Wave, Sizzler, Shockwave, Sky Diver and Wipe Out. There are new rides for 2015 such as Disk’O and the Star Flyer. The kids’ rides include the Caterpillar, Frisbee, Cups n Saucers, Fantasia, Pony Express, Canoe River, Looney Tunes, Farm Train, Bumpy Slide and Trampolines.
Are you (or anyone in your family) a fan of Sooty? Have you ever seen The Sooty Show on ITV? If so, then you are in for a treat. It is filmed at Fun City and every afternoon at 3pm there is a live show. You can visit the TV studio and see memorabilia from the past 65 years. Kids get to meet Sooty and Sweep.
Brean Theme Park’s Fun City opens at 10am on Saturday, March 21, 2015 and remains open until Saturday, November 1, 2015. It closes at 9pm on Fridays, from March 30 until April 11, and May 22 to May 30. Other days it closes at 6 pm. On July 18, it switches to closing on all days at 9pm until September 5.
Fun City is easily accessible from Bristol, Weston Super Mare, Burnham on Sea, Bridgwater and the entire South Wales. Fun City is the largest free entry family theme park in the South West.
The hours of opening are great, access is easy, and the cost is reasonable. You can either buy the tokens necessary for individual rides for £1 or you can buy a wristband that is good for all rides for one day for £25 each. You can get a two-day wristband for £45 each. The Go Karts are separate from the Family Thrill Rides and are not included in the special wristband value.
For small children (the ones between 0.8m and 1.1m high) the best bet is the Sooty’s Tiny Tots Wristband which is £15 each for one day and £27.50 for a two-day wristband.
