A Pre-Historic Day Out at Torquay’s Dinosaur World
There’s so much to do in Torquay, beaches to relax on, long walks to go on, pubs with great food and drink and so much more. But how do you keep the kids entertained? After all, a stay at Galmpton Touring Park is a holiday for everyone.
Why not step back in time with a visit Torquay’s Dinosaur World, where the world of dinosaurs comes to life! Get up close to full size and scaled dinosaurs and see how scary they really are. Study the history of incredible fossils and ferocious beats and put your knowledge to the test with the family explorer quiz. If that sounds too much like hard work, then relax and take a seat on top of a dinosaur for a unique photo opportunity?
Whether you’re a little dinosaur, or a grown-up one, there’s something for everyone to dig their teeth into at Torquay’s Dinosaur World. So what can you and family get up to?
- Put your head inside the jaws of a real T-Rex – or at least the skull of one! Are you brave enough to give it a go?
- Learn about palaeontology (the study of dinosaur fossils) with dynamic and fascinating exhibits
- Dodge velociraptors in Jurassic Park as part of a frightening recreation of famous scenes from the movie
- Get face-to-face with the monstrous Mesothelae – this giant spider isn’t afraid to eat anyone that crosses its path, so watch out!
- Did you know coprolite is the actual name for dinosaur poo? Learn more about what dinosaurs ate with hands on exhibits – do you dare to touch dinosaur poo?
Torquay’s Dinosaur World are holding special events throughout 2018, so why not check them out to make your visit a little bit more roooaaarsome?
This Easter, you can take part in a dinosaur easter egg hunt. Search for clues with some of your favourite dinosaurs and win a special Easter dinosaur expert certificate, a chocolate treat and a selection of 160 million year old fossils!
2018 also marks Torquay’s Dinosaur World’s 8th Birthday – so why not get involved? From May 27th to June 3rd you can party with Toby T-Rex, Derek Deinonychus and all their friends for a special birthday celebration and take part in a special birthday explorer quiz. All of their guests will also receive a special birthday gift – a dinosaur expert certificate and a 100-million-year old fossil. You’ll also have a chance to win a Dinosaur World t-shirt and a goodie bag full of toys, models and fossils as part of the birthday card competition.
Want to grab something to remember your day out? Or just something to keep the kids (and big kids) entertained on the drive home? Grab your own fossil digging kit to become an instant palaeontologist or maybe a dinosaur toy and recreate your favourite scenes from Jurassic Park.
Not only is this a great way to keep the kids entertained, it won’t break the bank with entry starting at just £5.95 – great value for a fun day out.
This is just one of the great activities you can do in Devon – there’s so much else to see and do. Galmpton Touring Park, with it’s central South Devon location, is the perfect place to stay while diving into the heart of the area!
